Anambra State Governor, Chief Willie Obiano on Wednesday Early morning stopped at Upper Iweka area of Onitsha, near the 302 Artillery Division of the Nigerian Army in Onitsha to rescue an a victim of car accident.
The governor was driving past on his way for an official task when he sighted the victim lying and covered in blood just by the road side after being hit by a driver that didn’t care to stop.
Eye witnesses said as soon as Governor Obiano noticed the man and the situation he was into he immediately ordered his driver to stop and his convoy to rescue the man.
it has also come to our knowledge that the man was hit by a 608 Mercedes Bus and the driver took off. “The victim is a young man in his 30s.
The source explained that, He lay by the roadside bleeding with a broken head with no one to attend to him until the governor’s convoy pulled over.
They went further to say that, “Governor Obiano immediately jumped out of his car and walked towards the victim to effect the rescue, and ordered his men to lend a hand.”
The governor then ordered that the victim be wheeled into the ambulance in his convoy and taken to a hospital immediately.
He assured a crowd of eye witness that the victim was in safe hands, and would be given good medical healthcare.
The governor recently added an ambulance to his convoy, stressing the need to be prepared for emergencies at all times.
